Body of man, 54, found along 2nd-floor sheltered corridor of Chinatown HDB block
Police investigations are ongoing.
The body of a 54-year-old man was found along a sheltered corridor at Block 333 Kreta Ayer Road in Chinatown during the early hours of Jan. 7.
Found outside 2nd-floor shop
The aftermath of the incident was caught on camera by an onlooker, who shared the photo with Shin Min Daily News.
According to the onlooker, the body was found along the second-floor corridor of the public housing block.
In the photo, a blue tent could be seen outside a shop on the second floor.
The police had also cordoned off the walkway and staircase on the first floor.
Employees of shops nearby told Shin Min that they were unclear about the situation.
Police investigations ongoing
In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Police Force confirmed that they received a call for assistance regarding the incident at around 5:50 am on Jan. 7.
A 54-year-old man was found motionless in the shelter of the public housing block.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) paramedic.
Based on preliminary investigations, the police do not suspect foul play.
Police investigations are ongoing.
