M'sian man reports lost IC at police station, runs away when police finds out he's a wanted man

A 36-year-old Malaysian man went to a police station in Pantai, Kuala Lumpur, at about 2:20pm.

The man had gone there to report the loss of his identity card.

However, he was also wanted for drug-related offences.

After he gave his details in a bid to find his card, the police realised he was wanted for the aforementioned drug-related offences.

That's when the man made a break for it.

According to Sinchew, he ran away and even hit a police officer in the process.

The police officers gave chase and ultimately caught the man near a Wyndham hotel.

The man was also found to have prior drug convictions.

According to Harian Metro, the suspect confessed to obstructing a civil servant's job by running away from investigations.
