Chinese man shouts 'Taiwan is part of China' when Taiwan tea company wins best tea award

Taiwan tea brand Lishan Juxin Tea Industry recently won a French tea competition award.

According to Taiwanese media, when the award was announced, two Chinese men, believed to be from the Chinese embassy in France, reacted quite strongly.

The CEO told Taiwan news outlet, Focus Taiwan, that they started shouting when the Taiwan flag was shown on the screen.

In a video by Taiwanese news, the Chinese man can be heard saying "Taiwan is part of China", and that "Taiwan is just a province".

Someone could also be heard replying to the outburst, "if you don't like it, get out".

The people in the room could be heard disapproving of the man's actions.

According to Focus Taiwan, the CEO told them that participants later offered him words of encouragement following the incident.

It is still unclear if the two people involved in the incident were Chinese diplomats.
