Singapore's roster of billionaires has grown to 55 in 2025, according to the UBS Billionaire Ambitions Report.

2025's cohort consists of all 47 from 2024, two who relocated here and six newcomers.

Their total wealth amounted to US$258.8 billion (S$335 billion), a 66.4 per cent increase from 2024's US$155.5 billion.

Singapore also overtook Australia to clinch the "Asia-Pacific region's third place".

The list released on Dec. 4, 2025, tracks the wealth of billionaires worldwide.

'Singapore was a hot spot'

UBS, Switzerland's biggest bank, stated that 69% of Singapore's billionaires were largely self-made.

The Asia-Pacific region had 128 new billionaires, the highest increase worldwide.

UBS's methodology included an online survey of their billionaire clientele in Switzerland, Europe (excluding Switzerland), Singapore, Hong Kong SAR, and the United States between Jul. 10 and Sep. 25, 2025.

The total sample size was 87 respondents.

The report did not specify the citizenship and residency status of these billionaires.

UBS' report stated that 36 per cent of the clients surveyed had moved at least once, rendering them highly mobile.

Most cited better quality of life and geopolitical concerns, both at 36 per cent.

The ability to organise tax affairs also ranked high at 35 per cent.

Benjamin Cavalli, Head of Strategic Clients & Global Connectivity, UBS Global Wealth Management and Co-Head EMEA OneUBS, stated that relocation shows how families are becoming more international.

"With over one third of them telling us that they have already relocated more than once and almost a further tenth considering doing so, this year’s report shows how families are becoming increasingly extended and international. This means they now face an unprecedented set of challenges that span continents, generations and cultures."
