Early on in the proceedings at the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA), host Joakim Gomez highlighted Ivory Chia as Singapore's Best Supporting Actress nominee for her role in Emerald Hill.

A tough field where she would be up against veteran actresses such as Oscar winner Yong Yuh Jung.

He quipped that she was probably able to be here because of the school holidays.

Gomez and fellow host Sonia Chew then pointed out how long the show had gone on, saying Chia might leave with a lifetime achievement award, with Chew chiming in that she would be of legal age.

However, Chia would still be very much an excitable nine-year-old when it was later revealed there would be a tiebreaker vote for Best Supporting Actress.

It was a good use of her holiday time as well, because she came up on top and happily bounded down the stairs.

In her acceptance speech, Chia thanked a host of people, including on-screen mums Chen Liping and Jesseca Liu for giving her "warmth and confidence" when she acts on screen.

Congrats!
