Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim to take on role as Minister of State in MFA & MSF from Jan. 1, 2026
One month earlier than scheduled.
Member of Parliament (MP) Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim will be appointed as Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Social and Family Development with effect from Jan. 1, 2026.
This was originally scheduled for Feb. 1 but had been brought forward as he has discharged his professional obligations earlier than initially scheduled, the government said.
Zhulkarnain, 44, is part of the Chua Chu Kang group representation constituency (GRC).
He was appointed the new roles after the 2025 General Elections in May, as one of two backbenchers alongside MP Desmond Choo to join the new Cabinet line-up.
