A 65-year-old woman in Thailand, who was brought to a temple to be cremated, suddenly started moving, shocking staff.

A video of the Nov. 23 incident was posted on the Buddhist temple's Facebook page and has been picked up by local Thai media.

Wat Rat Prakhong Tham is a Buddhist temple in the province of Nonthaburi on the outskirts of Bangkok.

Woman in coffin started moving

A woman could be seen in the video lying in a white coffin in the back of a pick-up truck, slightly moving her arms and head.

The woman's brother had reportedly driven her from the province of Phitsanulok to be cremated, according to Associated Press.

A temple manager said staff heard a faint knock coming from the coffin.

The manager then asked staff to open the coffin and everyone was startled.

The woman apparently opened her eyes and had been knocking on the side of the coffin for quite a while, it was reported.

Woman bedridden for two years

The brother claimed that his sister apparently stopped breathing two days ago.

This was after she became bedridden for about two years and her health suddenly deteriorated and she became unresponsive.

Drove 500km to be cremated

He then placed her in a coffin and drove 500km to a hospital in Bangkok, where the woman had previously expressed a wish to donate her organs.

As there was no official death certificate, the hospital refused to accept the brother's offer.

As the temple offers a free cremation service, the brother approached them on Sunday, but was also refused as there was no death certificate.

The sound of the knocking was heard when the manager was explaining how to get a death certificate.

The woman was subsequently taken to a nearby hospital.

The temple would cover the woman's medical expenses.
