M'sia rapper Namewee & late Taiwanese influencer had 'special relationship': M'sia police
Police are still awaiting the toxicology report.
Malaysian rapper Namewee and the late Taiwanese influencer Iris Hsieh had a "special relationship", Malaysian police said.
Speaking on the sidelines of a Deepavali celebration at the contingent headquarters on Nov. 11, the city police chief told local media:
"They are friends and they have other relationships that I will not get into."
Declining to reveal the full extent of their relationship, he reiterated that it was a "special" relationship.
Toxicology report on body not ready
The police chief further revealed that Hsieh's body has yet to be claimed and police were still awaiting the toxicology report.
"We will determine our suggestions to the deputy public prosecutor in the near future," he said, adding that some time is needed.
Background
Namewee surrendered to the police on Nov. 5 after Hsieh’s death was reclassified as murder from sudden death.
He has been remanded for an additional three days by police until Nov. 13.
He was the last person seen with the woman in a hotel room in Kuala Lumpur at about 1:40pm on Oct. 22.
Hsieh had arrived in Malaysia on Oct. 20.
She was scheduled to stay until Oct. 24.
Namewee was later arrested for alleged possession and use of drugs, and was released on bail after pleading not guilty to drug-related charges on Oct. 24.
