The man was subsequently arrested by the police, with two penknives seized as evidence.

The 68-year-old man passed away in hospital following the altercation.

Man said people were 'bullying' him: Eyewitness

A resident at the condominium, surnamed Ang, told Stomp that he was on the ground floor when he heard a domestic helper screaming.

He looked up and saw a man's body moving about at the 13th-floor ledge.

Ang said that when he rushed up to the 13th floor, he saw a man with a bloodstained shirt lying on the ground in front of the staircase, with droplets of blood on the corridor floor.

Ang and a security guard helped to restrain a younger man and pull him away from the ledge.

Meanwhile, another resident performed cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on the man on the ground.

Ang said he spoke to the younger man for about 30 minutes to calm him down before police arrived.

According to Ang, the man told him he had autism, and asked him, "Will you bully me? Do you hate me?"

When the police arrived, Ang said the man got agitated again and asked if residents had called the authorities.

Later, the man was seen handcuffed and pinned to the ground by five police officers.

Shin Min Daily News reported that it understood that the man previously attended a special education school in Singapore.

Neighbours who had seen the man since childhood said he was well-behaved and would greet them when they met.

They told Shin Min that they were shocked to hear of his alleged involvement in the death of the older person.
