Bangkok could see 20°C weather as cold front sweeps across Thailand from Nov. 17
Also due to a moderate high-pressure system from China affecting the upper part of the country.
Temperatures as low as 20°C are expected in Bangkok, Thailand from Nov. 20 to 23.
According to Bangkok Post, the Thailand Meteorological Department said that such temperatures are due to winter conditions forecast to arrive in the country from Nov. 17.
Morning temperatures in the northern, central and eastern regions will also dip due to a moderate high-pressure system from China affecting the upper part of the country, reported The Nation.
Bangkok weather
Bangkok will also see cool morning minimum temperatures of between 22 to 23°C, as scattered rain will persist across the country.
Data suggests that a mass of cool air will move in from Nov. 21, leading to a gradual drop in temperatures.
Between Nov. 20 and 23, temperatures in Bangkok could fall below 20°C.
Other regions
Meanwhile, the upper north and upper northeast are forecast to see less rainfall as cool to cold weather sets in.
The northern region is also expected to experience low temperatures of around 18°C, reported The Nation.
The southern region will face increased rainfall, including heavy showers in some areas, driven by an intensifying northeast monsoon and an easterly wind shift moving across the region.
Upper Thailand will see unstable weather as thunderstorms first develop in the northeast and then spread elsewhere.
A temperature drop will follow, bringing cool to cold conditions and strong winds.
This pattern is linked to a strong high-pressure system from China extending over northern Thailand and the South China Sea.
Residents in these areas are advised to take precautions against the cold.
