SCDF rescues man who felt unwell from 30m tower crane at Katong construction site
He was later conveyed to the hospital.
A man was rescued after he felt unwell and was unable to climb down from a 30m tower crane at a construction site along Thiam Siew Avenue.
Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) officers and rescuers from the elite Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) responded to the incident at about 5:30pm on Nov. 10.
Four DART rescuers and two SCDF firefighters climbed up the crane via a cat ladder to reach the man, who was inside the crane cabin, according to a Facebook post by SCDF.
The rescuers provided water, administered oxygen, and set up the height lowering equipment, SCDF said.
The man was then secured onto a stretcher and lowered to the ground.
A video of the rescue showed one of the rescuers attached to the stretcher to ensure the man’s safety.
