The elder sister of the female student, 16, who was allegedly stabbed to death in a school in Selangor, Malaysia, posted a farewell message on social media.

The Oct. 15 post in Chinese read:

"Little sister, you should have had a longer journey, more beautiful scenery, and more lovely youthful days ahead.

But a ruthless act of malice robbed you of everything that belonged to you.

This separation was so sudden and so heavy.

Before we could meet again, you quietly departed.

May you find no fear or hurt on the other side, only light and peace.

We will remember you and pray for you.

May the deceased rest in peace, and may justice prevail.

May the world be gentler to kind people."

The post was accompanied by an obituary notice and a family photo.

Allegedly killed in school

The farewell message came a day after the fatal stabbing of the victim, who was identified as Yap Shing Xuen in the obituary, at around 9:10am on Oct. 14 at a secondary school in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya.

The family of the deceased were seen at the Pathology Department of Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) on Tuesday evening.

They managed to claim the body at 7:30am on Wednesday following a post-mortem.

The police did not confirm if the victim sustained more than 50 knife wounds in the attack, but said her torso and neck were injured.

Initial investigations found that the victim had suffered multiple stab wounds.

A 14-year-old boy has been detained in connection with the case.

Friends of the victim remember her as a cheerful and active person who played volleyball.
