S'pore Pools makes record S$12.7 billion from lottery, sports betting & horse racing in last financial year
New record.
Singapore Pools generated a record S$12.7 billion in turnover in the last financial year, from their lottery, sports betting and horse racing services.
This surpassed the previous record of S$12.2 billion in turnover from the 2023/2024 financial year.
Details
According to the Singapore Pools 2024/2025 annual report, 97 per cent of the turnover was "dedicated to benefiting Singaporeans and the broader community".
It was used for S$9.45 billion in prize payouts, S$2.28 billion in betting duties and taxes and S$575 million in Tote Board contributions, of which Singapore Pools is a subsidiary.
The Tote Board uses these funds to support impactful causes in the arts, community development, charity, education, health and sports, according to the report.
The remaining 3 per cent was reinvested in business operations and technological upgrades "aimed at strengthening capabilities and improving customer experience", the report said.
These include a new broadcast studio for horse racing, new generation gaming systems, and enhanced in-store audio-visual systems.
Other initiatives
In their joint message, chairman Kai S. Nargolwala and CEO Lam Chee Weng said that in the 2024/2025 financial year, sports betting continued to show strong performance, driven by new leagues and major tournaments such as UEFA Euro 2024.
"Looking ahead, Singapore Pools remains firmly committed to serving the nation — providing a safe space for gaming, continuously innovating to enhance customer experience, and deepening our contributions to Singapore’s communities," they said.
Singapore Pools is a fully-owned subsidiary of Tote Board, which is a statutory board under the Ministry of Finance.
In the 2024/2025 financial year, it provided over S$2.4 million of support to 230 charities and community initiatives in Singapore, the report said.
Over S$1.75 million was raised for social service organisations supporting the arts, sports, and seniors through Singapore Pools' fundraisers and with the Tote Board's support.
Other improvements included the roll out of PayNow services across all Singapore Pools outlets, and a facial recognition project to strengthen security surveillance at their off-course betting centres.
