Man, 57, arrested in Penang after his wife, 51, found dead at home with head nearly severed, daughter, 11, also dead
Both woman and girl reportedly had knife wounds on their bodies, including their hands.
A Malaysian man, 57, has been arrested after his wife, 51, and their daughter, 11, were found dead in their rented home in Penang on Oct. 18.
The husband allegedly made the discovery of his family members' bodies at about 7:30pm on Saturday.
He is now remanded to assist in investigations.
Knife wounds on bodies
The woman's body was allegedly found in the kitchen on the ground floor with her head almost severed, while the girl was found upstairs face down in a bloodied state.
Both woman and girl reportedly had knife wounds on their bodies, including their hands.
The house is located in Kampung Juru, Seberang Perai, Penang in Malaysia.
A neighbor of the victim said the couple had just rented the house not long ago.
The husband reportedly worked as a security guard at a factory.
The police have not confirmed on Sunday if he is the main suspect in the case but will be holding him in remand till Oct. 25.
A voice note, believed to be the man's, has since circulated online.
A voice could be heard telling his employer: “Assalamualaikum, Abang Daus. I can’t make it to work tomorrow. My wife and daughter were murdered.”
