Body of woman, 24, found in car parked in Sarawak, M'sia mall

The body of a 24-year-old Malaysian woman was found on Oct. 29 inside a car parked at a shopping mall along Jalan Song in Kuching, Sarawak in Malaysia.

The woman was reported missing a few days ago.

Noticed a smell

The public grew concerned after they noticed a smell and made a police report on Wednesday.

Kuching police said they received a report at 1:55pm from a member of the public who found an unconscious woman inside a vehicle at the mall’s parking area.

The woman was in the driver's seat.

Firefighters helped to assist in opening the car door, which was locked from the inside.

Reported missing previously

The woman was identified as Marianna Liew Ai Jia, who was reported missing in the Tabuan Jaya area on Oct. 25.

An appeal for information on her whereabouts stated that she had left her Tabuan Laru home in a Nissan Grand Livina.

The body has been sent for a post-mortem.

Initial investigations at the scene found no criminal elements, and the case has been classified as sudden death, Kuching police added.
