S'pore police raided 151 bars & KTV lounges for vapes, almost 200 people caught & fined
Caught.
Patrons aged 17 to 61 were caught and fined for vape offences, during a series of multi-agency raids in Singapore in August.
A total of 151 pubs, bars, and KTV lounges were raided across Singapore.
The operations took place from Aug. 15 to 23.
They were led by the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and supported by officers from the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) and the Health Sciences Authority (HSA).
In total, 195 persons were caught.
Six persons were found to possess etomidate-containing vapes, known colloquially as Kpods.

Consequences
In its Aug. 31 joint statement, SPF and HSA said all 195 offenders were fined for possessing illegal vapes.
A total of 340 vapes and components were seized.
Meanwhile, the six who were found with Kpods will be investigated for possession of etomidate under the Poisons Act.
A total of 11 pods were seized from them.
From Sep. 1, etomidate will be temporarily re-classified as a Class C controlled drug under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Abusers will face stiffer penalties, including mandatory rehab of up to six months and supervision, while foreigners may be deported and barred from re-entering Singapore.
Suppliers will face mandatory jail and caning.
