Malaysia police arrested a Singaporean woman, 29, for allegedly directing abusive language at traffic police officers when she was issued a summons during a roadblock at the Second Link, New Straits Times reported.
Didn't want to cooperate
The woman was driving when she was stopped at a roadblock at the 3.8km mark of the highway in Gelang Patah at 8:30pm on Sep. 27, Malaysia police said.
The woman apparently refused to cooperate during the inspection and verbally abused the officers on duty after being informed that summons would be issued against her for illegally modifying her car’s exhaust system, Malaysia police added.
Litany of offences
The woman could face a punishment of up to two years' jail, a fine of up to RM10,000 (S$3,060), or both for obstructing a public servant from carrying out their duty.
She is also being investigated for using insulting words intended to hurt feelings or cause a breach of peace, which is punishable by a maximum fine of RM100 (S$30.70).
She is also under investigation for not having valid documents to remain in Malaysia, which carries a penalty of up to five years’ jail, a fine of up to RM10,000, or whipping of not more than six strokes, or any two of these punishments.
