New vehicle bridge connecting Punggol Central to TPE via Seletar Link opens
Greater convenience for Punggol residents.
A new vehicle bridge connecting Punggol Central to Tampines Expressway (TPE) via Seletar Link has opened, providing motorists in Punggol West with greater convenience to other parts of the city.
The six-lane vehicular bridge officially opened at 9am on Aug. 3, Punggol GRC Member of Parliament Sun Xueling, who is also the Senior Minister of State for Transport and National Development, announced on Facebook.
Known as the Seletar South Link, the new bridge will serve as an alternative road to access TPE.
It will also help ease congestion on the existing roads leading to the TPE, which are Punggol Way and Punggol Road.
Additionally, the bridge includes upgraded junctions and barrier-free paths that link to the Punggol Park Connector, offering a safer journey and convenience for pedestrians and cyclists.

"With this new road, our residents here will be able to enjoy another option to enter as well as to leave Punggol," said Sun.
The minister told The Straits Times that Punggol is a town "that is still growing", with many young families who drive and use public transport for their needs.
She said many residents use exits 9 and 10 on the TPE to travel in and out of the town, but that motorists can get stuck in traffic for five to ten minutes at these exits before reaching the expressway during peak hours.
The Seletar Link Flyover, which opened in January 2024 and connects Seletar Link to the TPE, was built to also ease traffic congestion in and out of the town and to accommodate future developments in the area.
