M'sia man, 39, fathers child with daughter, 16, allegedly tries to abandon baby & hide birth, gets arrested
A security guard who claimed he 'found' the baby in a box has also been arrested.
A 39-year-old man in Selangor, Malaysia allegedly committed incest with his 16-year-old daughter, till she gave birth, then tried to conceal the birth, Malaysia police said.
To do so, the man allegedly conspired with a security guard to fabricate a story about finding the "abandoned" newborn in a box near a petrol station in Kajang, Selangor.
Following investigations, the man, his daughter and the 29-year-old security guard who reported the discovery, were arrested by local police on Aug. 12, Malaysia media reported.
Police uncovered incest after 'abandoned baby' report
Kajang district police chief Mohd Naazron Abd Yusof said in a statement on Facebook that they received a report from the guard about an abandoned baby on Aug. 11 at about 1:56am.
The guard claimed he had "found" the baby in a box near a shop beside a petrol station in the Hulu Langat district of Selangor.
The guard also told police he believed an unknown individual had "abandoned" the baby.
Investigations uncovered that the baby was the child of a 39-year-old man and his 16-year-old daughter, who allegedly had an incestuous relationship, Mohd Naazron said.
The girl was not schooling at the time, police found.
"The complainant, a 29-year-old security guard, was actually in cahoots with the man. The so-called discovery was fabricated to conceal the birth," said Mohd Naazron as quoted by New Straits Times.
2 men and teenage girl arrested
The baby, who was less than one week old, was in good health and was sent to the hospital for observation, Sin Chew Daily reported.
Acting on information, police detained the two men and the teenage girl on Aug. 12.
Mohd Naazron said in his statement that the two men have been remanded for one and six days respectively.
The teenager was released on police bail and hospitalised for further examination and treatment.
The case is being investigated for child abandonment and incest.
Police are urging members of the public with any information on the case to come forward.
