2 old men beat 2 other old men with chairs in Bukit Panjang drunken brawl
Coffee shop main event.
Two elderly men were seen in a fight with two other elderly men — who were lying on the ground and getting beaten up.
The incident occurred at around 8:10pm on Aug. 2 at a coffee shop at Block 257 Bangkit Road in Bukit Panjang.
A video of the beating was uploaded by Sgfollowsall on Telegram.
Used chairs
The video started off with two men, who were standing, raising a chair each, to hit the two men on the ground.
The chairs appeared to bounce off the men.
After the chair strikes, both of the men who were standing were restrained by others at the coffee shop.
The two men, who were standing but staggering about, could be heard verbally taunting the two men on the ground.
It was unclear what was said, but vulgarities were hurled.
A few voices could be heard shouting in dialect: "Enough is enough."
Kicked man in face
One of the man in yellow could then be seen getting agitated as he turned his attention to the man in orange.
He picked up a plastic chair and appeared to want to hit the man in orange, who was still on the ground, but was restrained.
However, as he was held back, he launched a kick and the sole of his foot appear to connect with the face of the man in orange, whose head snapped back upon impact.
The man in yellow was then pulled away.
The two men on the ground were seen struggling to get up and did not managed to do so by the end of the video.
A voice in the video could also be heard saying towards the end: "Let's all go back."
Drunken brawl
Shin Min Daily News reported that the coffee shop was packed and the elderly men got into a fight as they were allegedly drunk.
The two men on the ground appeared to have been bleeding from their mouths.
The man in white was apparently recognised as a regular at the coffee shop.
Police called in
A food stall employee said the police arrived and stayed for an hour.
The police confirmed two men, aged 57 and 65, were injured, but refused to be conveyed to the hospital.
Police are investigating.
