At least 6 injured after woman in M'sia allegedly rams car into motorcycles, goes on stabbing spree
When caught, she was allegedly sitting on the ground shouting, "I hate Malaysia."
At least six people were injured after a woman in Selangor, Malaysia allegedly rammed her car into three motorcycles and attacked others with a knife on Aug. 13.
The perpetrator is a 24 year-old woman who is not a Malaysian, New Straits Times reported.
She was arrested by police at the scene of the crime, and investigations are ongoing.
What happened
According to videos of the attack that have since gone viral on social media, the woman allegedly drove recklessly and crashed her car, what appears to be a white sedan, into three motorcycles at a road junction.
The incident occured at about 11.58am in Kajang, the local police chief said, according to NST.
She then exited the vehicle and allegedly attacked nearby road users with a knife, before chasing bystanders and motorists around barefooted.
The woman later ran into the nearby Metro Point Complex and allegedly stabbed shoppers, injuring a few more.
After a tussle ensued in a store, she was then subdued on the ground by passers-by, where she was seen repeatedly shouting, "I hate Malaysia".
The police were alerted to the incident, and arrested the woman at the scene.
6 injured
According to the police, two knives were found on the woman during the arrest, NST reported.
Six locals were injured in total, aged between 21 and 60.
Two victims were warded for further treatment, while four others were treated and discharged on the same day.
The three motorcycles involved in the collision were also damaged.
The woman will be remanded on Aug. 14 to assist with investigations, where she may face up to 20 years' imprisonment for attempted murder.
For reckless driving, she may also be jailed for up to twelve months and fined up to RM10,000 (S$3,040).
