Newly-engaged M'sia man stabbed, killed, outside his home over 'misunderstanding'
Sources alleged that the victim was having an affair with the man's wife.
A 28-year-old man was allegedly stabbed and killed outside his home in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia by a 31-year-old man on Aug. 11.
The murder suspect was reportedly apprehended by residents and tied up with a rope before police arrived.
Seremban police said that the incident is believed to have been triggered by a misunderstanding between the suspect and the victim, New Straits Times reported.
Sources told China Press that the suspect is believed to have stabbed the victim over having an alleged affair with his wife.
The case is being investigated for murder, according to police.
However, the motive for the incident is still under investigation.
Man, 31, arrested for murder
Seremban district police chief Mohamad Hatta Che Din told Malaysian media that the alleged stabbing took place at a house in the Senawang suburb of Seremban.
A member of the public called the police to report the incident at around 6:50pm on Aug. 11.
At 7:28pm, medical officers from a Seremban hospital pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The 28-year-old had allegedly been stabbed in the chest with a knife, said Mohamad Hatta.
With assistance from the public, police arrested the suspect, a 31-year-old man, and a knife was seized.
"We are still investigating the motive of the murder," Mohamad Hatta said, as reported by The Star.
He also urged any members of the public with information to come forward.

The deceased, Muhammad Amirul Rasyid Mohd Niza, was a single father who was newly engaged to be remarried, Sinar Harian reported.
His younger brother, Muhammad Amirul Hakim, claimed he was chatting with the deceased outside their house when a car stopped by.
"I thought it was my brother's friend. But a man got out of the car, approached us, and without saying anything, stabbed my brother in the chest," said Hakim.
Hakim said he then held on to the suspect to prevent his escape, while his brother was soaked in blood from the injury.
The man tried to flee but was caught by neighbours who tied him up with a rope.
Hakim said 10 of his siblings were at home, and his mother fainted when she saw his brother's condition.
According to Hakim, he and his family did not know the suspect, and to his knowledge, the deceased had no enemies.
Hakim added that the deceased, who had separated from his wife years ago, had just returned home from taking his child out for a walk.
He had been engaged for two weeks and planned to marry within the year.
"Last night, he was supposed to buy his wedding gifts," Hakim told Sinar Harian on Aug. 12.
Angry husband allegedly stabbed wife's lover: Sources
Sources told China Press that the alleged stabbing is believed to have been triggered after the suspect discovered that his wife was having an affair.
The husband then went to confront the alleged lover at his house.
The two allegedly had a disagreement that became violent, China Press reported.
The angry husband then allegedly stabbed his wife's alleged lover in the chest, fatally injuring him.
Seremban police said the 31-year-old suspect has been remanded until Aug. 18.
The case is being investigated for murder.
