Workers' Party chair Sylvia Lim has signed a book deal with homegrown publisher Epigram Books to write a memoir.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Aljunied GRC said that she's had interest in her life and in the people who have "made her whole", reported The Straits Times.

"As I turn 60 this year, it feels right to start to reflect on my experiences of life, vocation and love which, hopefully, will be meaningful not just now, but also for posterity," she added.

The agreement was signed in recent weeks, and the book has no title yet.

It is expected to be published in the latter half of 2027.

Lim, a fourth-term MP who's known as a "mama bear" to her younger peers in the party, has served as party chair since 2003.

In a recent interview with project p1965 — an collection of interviews with Singaporeans born in 1965 — Lim shared reflections about her life in politics, her family, and her childhood.

"I feel happy to have come to this stage where we are now senior citizens. And recognised as such," she said. "I’m looking forward to the next phase of my life."
