Thai PM Paetongtarn Shinawatra suspended by Constitutional Court
The Court will rule on whether to remove her from the position.
Thailand’s Constitutional Court has suspended Thailand’s Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra on Jul. 1.
According to Nikkei, it accepted a petition by 36 members of Thailand’s senate seeking to remove her due to comments she had made regarding members of Thailand’s military during a conflict on the Thai-Cambodia border.
She will be suspended until the court makes a final ruling.
This suspension makes her the latest Thai PM to be suspended or removed by the Thai Constitutional Court, with her predecessor Srettha Thavisin also removed from his post by the court.
