'He wants the best for the country': Man's Iranian wife detained but still supports Trump
"The flag stands."

An Iranian woman, Arpineh Masihi, was detained by federal agents outside her home in California on Jun. 30.
Both Masihi and her husband, Arthu Sahakyan, are proud supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump.
Federal officers came to their house
As reported in FOX 11, their home surveillance video showed federal agents waiting for Masihi outside their home while she walked back into her house to say goodbye to her four children.
"She came and kissed the kids and that was it. That was the last time we saw her."
Sahakyan told FOX 11 that Masihi was born in Iran and came to the U.S. as a refugee when she was 3-years-old.
However, her green card was revoked over a theft-related conviction years ago. Sahakyan said that it was for "misdemeanour stuff" and that they have since been trying to restore her citizenship.
With the U.S. bombing three nuclear sites in Iran on Jun. 22, tensions have escalated and the fears of sleeper cells retaliating in the U.S. have also intensified.
According to FOX 11, more than 130 Iranian nationals were detained in the U.S. in the last week of June.
Husband continues to support Trump
Sahakyan told FOX 11 that though he misses his wife dearly, he understands what Trump is doing and he continues to stand by him.
He states that "because of the sleeper cells", he is "very" supportive of the U.S. vetting Iranian nationals and "[he] understands that".
"Trump is not trying to do anything bad. We understand what he's doing. He wants the best for the country.
I'm just trying to make the best of it. I don't want any families to go through this. If they are, I apologise for what they're going through because it's hard."

In an interview with FOX 11, Masihi called her family and told them that "[she's] on the list to be going to a different facility".
Despite the uncertainty over his wife's immigration status, Sahakyan says that he will continue to leave the Trump flags and signs outside their home in support of him.
"I'm still supporting [Trump]. Even though my friends say take the flag down, you're going through a lot. I'm like no. The flag stands."
Department of Homeland Security released a statement
According to FOX 11, the Department of Homeland Security released a statement on Masihi's detainment.
"On Jun. 30, ICE arrested Arpineh Kamal Masihi, a criminal illegal alien from Iran. She was convicted of burglary and sentenced to two years in prison in 2008. Following her criminal conviction, she was placed into immigration proceedings.
A judge issued her a final order of removal on Jun. 24, 2009. She had more than 15 years to self-deport and leave the U.S. Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, if you break the law, you will face the consequences. Criminal illegal aliens are not welcome in the U.S."
