A 57-year-old man touched himself while on the MRT train as he was feeling sexually frustrated, and flicked his bodily fluid onto a fellow commuter, staining her pants.

Cheng Choong Peng was thinking about his unsatisfactory sexual relationship with his wife when he decided to perform his sex act.

He was sentenced to three weeks’ jail on Jul. 2 after he pleaded guilty to one charge of public nuisance.

What happened

The incident took place on Feb. 5.

Cheng and the 23-year-old victim boarded the train at Jurong East MRT station some time after 8am.

He stood behind her on the train.

He thought about his wife and his unsatisfactory relationship with her.

She would tell him that she was tired whenever he wanted to be intimate with her.

Cheng unzipped his pants to touch himself.

The accused covered his crotch with his tucked-out shirt, according to the statement of facts.

After he was done, he realised that some of his bodily fluid was on the floor and on his hands.

Cheng then flicked his bodily fluid off his hand, which landed onto the woman’s pants.

The court heard that Cheng was afraid to tell the woman her clothing was stained as she would report it to the police.

The woman only noticed her clothing was stained with a white sticky substance after she alighted at Outram Park MRT station en route to her workplace.

She sought the assistance of a SMRT staff at Shenton Way MRT and lodged a police report as she suspected that the stains came from the man who stood behind her.

The woman was shocked, felt loss, as well as insulted and disgusted by what Cheng had done, the statement of facts added.

The police swabbed the stains on the woman’s pants and sent it to be analysed at the Health Sciences Authority.

Cheng was arrested on May 20.

For committing public nuisance, knowing that the act would cause annoyance to the public, the man could be jailed for up to three months, fined up to S$2,000, or both.
