Man, 21, found dead near United Square mall taxi stand in Novena
The police do not suspect foul play.
A 21-year-old man was pronounced dead in the early hours of Jun. 24 at United Square shopping mall in Novena.
In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Police Force and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it responded to a call for assistance at about 6.50am at 101 Thomson Road, which is the address of the mall.
“A person was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic,” SCDF said.
The police said he was found lying motionless near a taxi stand after they were alerted to a case of unnatural death.
Videos on social media showed the mall’s drop-off point, off Khiang Guan Avenue, cordoned off.
At least four police cars and a crime scene investigation van were present.
A blue tent could be seen near the gantry of the mall’s car park.
Based on preliminary investigations, the police do not suspect foul play.
Police investigations are ongoing.
