U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that U.S. military forces attacked three nuclear sites in Iran.

"All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of bombs was dropped on the primary site, Fordow," wrote Trump on Truth Social.

He ended his post, saying: "Now it's the time for peace."

The attack comes more than a week after Israel-Iran conflict on June 13.

"Fordow is gone"

The three nuclear sites are Fordo, Natanz, and Esfahan.

Trump also posted a subsequent update, saying: "Fordow is gone."

It was reported earlier that the United States' prospective involvement in the Israel-Iran conflict has exposed a deep divide in Trump's support base.

"We will end it"

The New York Times reported an Iranian news anchor saying that the U.S. had no legitimate place in the region. The broadcast also displayed a graphic of American bases in the Middle East with the headline: "Within the fire range of Iran."

The anchor said: “Mr Trump, you started it and we will end it.”

In another post, Trump said that he will address the nation at 10pm (10am Singapore Time).
