Thai woman, 23, offers sex to motorcycle taxi rider instead of paying S$1.57 fare

Saying that she had no money, a 23-year-old woman in Thailand offered to have sex with a motorcycle taxi rider in place of paying a 40 baht (S$1.57) fare.

The driver, also 23, then called the police for help.

The incident reportedly happened at 7:30pm on Jun. 26 at a rental room in Soi Kamnan, Udon Thani municipality, according to Bangkok Post.

Another man in room

Before the police arrived, a man inside the room came out and paid the fare via mobile banking.

When questioned later by police, the 29-year-old man said he did not know the woman personally, but had seen her frequently visiting the dormitory over the past month.

He said she would often look for a motorcycle taxi rider and she would usually ask residents to call the rider for her.

Taking pity on her, he decided to pay the fare this time.

He added that he had no intention of letting her into his room, but she entered anyway.

The man, whose wife is pregnant and currently in Nong Khai province, told the woman that her behaviour could get him into trouble and made it clear he was only helping her with the fare.

Woman had history of drug use

The woman, meanwhile, admitted to inviting the rider into the room while the man was present.

She claimed she was single and simply wanted some company to "ease her loneliness", denying any involvement with drugs or offering them.

Police met her 72-year-old grandmother when they escorted her to her house.

The grandmother told officers that the woman had a history of drug use, which had contributed to psychiatric issues.

She often left the house at night and took motorcycle taxis without having any money.

The grandmother asked police for help in getting her granddaughter treatment.

However, as her condition was not considered severe, officers advised the family to bring her to the hospital during regular operating hours.
