Taiwan influencer known for eating makeup products dies aged 24
The cause of her death is currently not known as of yet.
An influencer based in Taiwan known as Guava Beauty, recognised for posting videos of herself on Weibo and Instagram using cosmetics, has passed away.
She was 24.
According to the SCMP, the reason for her death, however, has yet to be confirmed.
Netizens in China are speculating that the cause of death might be poisoning or a heart attack.
In an Instagram post, her parents shared the news that the influencer had died on May 24, writing:
“It is with deep sorrow that we inform you that our treasured girl of beauty-product mukbangs, Guava Beauty, put down her brushes and flew off to start a new channel in heaven on May 24, 2025."
“Thank you to everyone who ever liked, commented, and laughed with her. She truly cherished it all. Maybe when we meet again, she will be unboxing angel-exclusive make-up for her celestial mukbang.”
A tribute post was also made by her parents, sharing that they would not close her Instagram account but would keep it in her memory.
According to The South China Morning Post (SCMP), Guava Beauty was known for posting make-up mukbang videos and videos of her tasting beauty products, including lipstick and blushes.
Not all her videos were about consuming cosmetics, however, as she also posted videos of herself merely testing out makeup products.
Several viewers have previously commented on her videos about the harms of consuming cosmetics, fearing that her content may potentially misinform young viewers.
