Japanese singer Ayumi Hamasaki, 46, has denied rumours that Elon Musk is the father of her two children.

How the rumours began

According to CNA, the rumours started after Ashley St Clair mentioned in The New York Times that Musk fathered a child with a Japanese pop star.

According to The New York Times, Clair dated Musk in 2023, and he had not told her that he had been dating anyone else.

She said that he had fathered children around the world, including one with a Japanese pop star and that he would "be willing to give his sperm to anyone who wanted to have a child."

The New York Times also reported that Musk believed strongly in increasing the world's population, offering sperm to his friends and acquaintances.

Acknowledging the rumours

On Jun. 2, Hamasaki took to Instagram to reject the rumours, writing in Japanese:

“I’ve been keeping an eye on this, and I guess it’s time for me to speak up. Elon Musk is not the father of [either of] my children.”

“Setting aside my personal image, when my kids are old enough to start googling things, I don’t want them to run into the rumours and think they’re true, so I’m firmly denying them,"

Who is Ayumi Hamasaki

Hamasaki is known as the "Queen of J-pop" and debuted in 1998 with her album"A Song for ××", which soared to No.1 on the Oricon charts.

She is set to perform at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Jul. 5; her first solo concert in Singapore.

According to The Straits Times, Hamasaki had announced the birth of her second child in 2021 but did not reveal who the father was.
