S'pore actor Zhang Yaodong, 47, spotted taking orders at food stall in Tampines industrial area
DIY.
Singapore actor, Zhang Yaodong, 47, was spotted manning a steamed seafood food stall in the Tampines industrial area.
He was seen wearing black-framed glasses and a white t-shirt.
He was manning the cash register and taking orders from customers.
Kept low profile
The Malaysian was previously in the spotlight after he allegedly fathered a number of children with different women in China, Indonesia, and Thailand.
He has since kept a low profile and did not respond to media queries.
Mediacorp's talent management agency The Celebrity Agency, which he was signed to, distanced itself from Zhang in February, stating that he was no longer an artiste under its management and that he has not participated in the filming of any new shows.
Spotted by public
His appearance at the food stall was noted by a member of the public, who posted about it on Xiaohongshu.
The post read: "The food stall I eat at every afternoon is actually opened by him. Because his employees resigned, I saw him coming to help."
The post added that Zhang looked "better in person" and mentioned that he spoke politely.
The person who took the photo also wrote: "In fact, it is a great virtue to admit one's mistakes and correct them."
This was after the actor left a bad impression on people because of the scandal.
Ran F&B businesses
Zhang hails from Malaysia.
His parents started out as hawkers and later opened a coffee shop, where he had helped out since he was little.
For many years, Zhang was reportedly also running a catering business in addition to filming, according to Vibes by 8world.
He and actor Terence Cao previously opened a roast meat stall in a food court but it closed in less than two years.
Zhang reportedly lost a six-figure sum.
He has also opened an Asian creative cuisine restaurant.
