Power 98FM moving to digital app, last radio transmission will be on Oct. 30, 2025
End of an era.
Power 98FM is holding its last radio transmission on Oct. 30, 2025.
Radio DJ Jerald Justin Ko announced the news via TikTok on Jun. 7.
He explained that while Power 98FM will not be airing on radio, it will make its content available via an application called “Kakee”.
According to Ko, the app would give audiences access to Power 98FM’s content, as well as prizes.
Kakee is a "made-in-Singapore entertainment app" where users can listen to Power 98 and 88.3JIA, watch short-form videos and play games.
Users are also given "Koins" for listening, watching and playing on the app, which can be used to redeem rewards.
'Big sign'
“I’m gonna be honest. I’ve lost count of the number of people have said to me, hey JK, sorry ah, never listen to radio, but I’ve seen your video on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram,” Ko said.
Ko explained that this was a “big sign” to take a “leap into digital full time”.
“Thank you so much for the memories, FM, and we’ll see you on the Kakee app,” he said.
Power 98FM is a 24-hour English lifestyle station.
It made its debut on the airwaves in October 1994.
