Department store BHG is downsizing its last remaining permanent store at Bugis Junction from three levels to two.

The news came following a series of other store closures.

Since 2022, BHG has closed its stores in Raffles City Shopping Centre, Jurong Point, Clementi Mall, and Lot One.

In March, BHG shuttered its Junction 8 store, which will be replaced by home furnishing retailer Nitori.

Nitori will also be taking over the third-floor area BHG previously occupied at Bugis Junction.

"We've made things a bit cozier"

"We've made things a bit cozier," BHG said about the downsizing on its social media.

"Same top brands, just tighter space. Compact with impact, and still all about you."

BHG declined to comment on the downsizing when approached by The Straits Times (ST).

A spokesperson for Bugis Junction told ST: “BHG remains a tenant at Bugis Junction on Levels 1 and 2, and we continue to work closely with them to introduce new brands."

In February, BHG launched a pop-up store at The Centrepoint, which will run until August 2025.

BHG Singapore was established in 1994 as Seiyu Wing on Department Store.

It was acquired by Beijing Hualian Group in 2007, and has been operating under the name BHG for the past 18 years.
