Police arrest woman, 42, at Changi Airport Terminal 1

The Singapore police arrested a 42-year-old woman at Changi Airport Terminal 1 on Jun. 6 evening.

The arrest was caught on camera by an onlooker, and the footage was uploaded to Xiaohongshu.

What video showed

According to the video, the arrest took place in front of several travellers, including two young children, at a luggage check-in area.

The travellers continued checking in their luggage as the arrest was carried out.

A woman could be seen being pinned to the ground by three police officers.

A black backpack and a stuffed plastic bag could also be seen on the ground near her.

In the caption, the Xiaohongshu user said the arrest caused a "commotion" at the terminal.

The post did not provide further context for the arrest.

Police statement

In response to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Police Force confirmed that they received a call for assistance regarding the incident at around 6:25pm on Jun. 6.

A 42-year-old woman was arrested for using abusive language against a public servant.

Police investigations are ongoing.
