Fish bone stuck in Thai woman's throat pierces out of her neck, gets removed by doctor
The bone was not revealed in two consecutive X-rays.
After accidentally swallowing a fish bone in a bowl of soup, a 45-year-old Thai woman was left in discomfort even though two consecutive X-rays did not reveal the bone in her throat.
But when she pressed onto her neck before applying a pain patch, the bone ended up protruding out of her skin and had to be removed through surgery.
Bone stuck in throat from fish soup
The bone was approximately two centimetres long.
Pictures of the scene were shared by a Facebook user on Jun. 17, who said it happened to his wife after she ate fish and got a bone stuck in her throat.

The original post has since been taken down.
After his post went viral, the man, Suriyan Buppa-art, told Thai media that about two weeks prior, his wife had craved fish soup.
They cooked the soup using two types of fish, two-spot catfish and another eel-like fish.
Suriyan said that when his wife scooped out the roe from the eel's stomach, he suspected there were some bones unknowingly mixed in it, Khaosod reported.
After one bite, a fish bone got stuck in her throat.
Suriyan said that his wife tried to dislodge the bone by eating rice, but failed, Thaiger reported.
As she was experiencing discomfort, she went to the hospital, but an X-ray did not reveal any foreign object in her throat.
The couple assumed the bone had been dislodged or dissolved.
X-rays couldn't find it
However, two weeks later, Suriyan's wife started to exhibit symptoms similar to thyroiditis, which led them to visit the doctor again.
When the doctor found nothing in a second X-ray, he gave her medicine to take home instead.
As Suriyan's wife was still in pain, they also bought a pain relief patch so she could apply it to her neck.
But when she massaged the sore spot in her neck before applying the patch, it caused a fish bone to protrude from her skin.
The shocked couple then rushed back to the hospital, where doctors removed the two-centimetre bone through surgery.

The doctor who treated his wife said it was the first time he had encountered such a situation, Suriyan told Khaosod.
His wife was subsequently hospitalised and treated for inflammation in her throat.
She told reporters via video call that she will not eat eel for the rest of her life.
