Teen, 17, allegedly tricks ex-schoolmate to soak genitals in chilli oil, play football naked, by pretending to be a woman over Instagram

A teenage boy was charged with allegedly deceiving their ex-schoolmate into performing degrading acts and, with the help of another teen, extorting money from the victim by threatening to distribute the videos of the acts.

According to CNA, both 17-year-olds face four and two charges, respectively.

The four charges one of the teens faces include one count of distributing intimate recordings, one count of cheating, one count of cheating and inducing dishonest delivery of property, and one count of extortion.

CNA stated that he conspired with the other accused on two charges.

The teen facing four charges is also accused of cheating the victim into performing humiliating acts.

He pleaded not guilty, and his case was adjourned till Jul. 16, while the teen with two charges intends to plead guilty on Jul. 30, said CNA.

The acts

Between February and December 2023, the teen apparently tricked his ex-schoolmate into believing he was talking with a woman over Instagram. The teen then allegedly persuaded the victim to perform seven humiliating acts, and send him gift cards and S$390, CNA reported.

The acts the victim was tricked into doing were:

• soaking his genitals in a bowl of chilli oil for two minutes
• rubbing salt onto his genitals
• consuming his own urine
• performing a sexual act in front of a camera
• playing football naked
• cutting and burning his hair with a lighter
• eating butter, cheese and chilli padi

Then, between February and June 2023, the teen apparently distributed the victim's intimate recordings.

In July 2023, the teen allegedly conspired with the other boy to extort S$2,450 from the victim by threatening to distribute the videos of the victim performing a sexual act, CNA said.

The two could face two to seven years' imprisonment and caning if convicted of extortion.

For cheating and dishonestly inducing the delivery of property, convicted offenders may face up to 10 years in jail and a fine.

If convicted of cheating, offenders may face up to three years in jail and/or a fine or both.

For distributing or threatening to distribute intimate images or recordings, those found guilty can face up to five years imprisonment, a fine, caning, or any combination of penalties.
