Former TVB actor and singer Wong He has opened up about two incidents where he suspected he was drugged and sexually assaulted in Taiwan in 2024.

Best known for starring in the action drama trilogy Burning Flame, the 57-year-old migrated from Hong Kong to the United Kingdom in 2021, then relocated again to Taiwan in October that same year.

Wong often shares about his personal life on social media, and his YouTube channel has accumulated over 136,000 subscribers.

In YouTube videos uploaded on May 10 and 12, he recounted two separate incidents where he believed he was drugged and raped in July and December 2024.

The first incident

In the first incident, Wong was at a friend’s residence in Hsinchu, Taiwan. In Cantonese, he described waking up early in the morning feeling suffocated.

“I was so scared and I wanted to get up, but I was held down by an external pressure. I could not move my hands and feet,” he said.

After struggling for a while, he blacked out.

When he regained consciousness, it was daylight. He was alone on the floor, his body aching and bruised.

His friends were in the living room using their phones. They asked if he wanted breakfast and sent him to the train station, like nothing happened.

Wong took photos of his bruises when he got home. However, he did not report the incident to the police, believing that they would not be able to do anything.

The second incident

Wong experienced another disturbing incident in December, in a different friend’s home.

He was having red bean soup for supper with two male friends in the early hours of the morning.

Similar to the first incident, he lost consciousness only to find himself held down on the bed.

“I don't know how many people there were, but I heard two male voices telling me not to move,” Wong said.

He struggled and lost consciousness again.

When he woke up, he was naked on the bed, covered in bruises. There was feces on the mattress, as well as bloodstains Wong claimed.

Thinking he had soiled himself, Wong apologised to his friend and offered to buy him a new mattress.

Following the second incident, Wong had difficulty moving his lower body and bending his knees.

He sought treatment at a hospital but claimed he was sent home with painkillers and did not get to consult a doctor.

Two days later, his symptoms worsened, and he returned to the hospital. He told a nurse that he might have been assaulted, and was subsequently hospitalised.

On Dec. 14, he was diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis, a potentially life-threatening condition where injured muscles break down rapidly and can cause kidney damage.

Wong said he believed this condition contributed to his kidney failure, which he revealed in early 2025.

“A lifetime of kidney dialysis”

In December 2024, Wong posted on Instagram photos of bruises on his body. He wrote the dates of the two incidents in his captions but did not provide any further details.

Then in January 2025, Wong shared photos of his medical reports and said that he had stage 3B chronic kidney disease.

However, he added that his condition was improving. He wrote that he went from “being sentenced to a lifetime of dialysis to discharging himself from the hospital.”

Frustration with the healthcare service

In the YouTube videos, Wong expressed disappointment that the hospital staff did not show concern about his condition and did not treat him adequately despite his obvious bruising.

Finally, Wong said he wanted to speak publicly about his experience to hopefully draw more attention to sexual assault and male victims.
