For U.S. market
The company intends to perform outdoor flight test at a 36,300 sq km test range in Pendleton, Oregon.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, they will also be conducting trials at the Johor-Singapore SEZ next month.
Upon the successful flight trials, the company plans to roll out Crimson clubs at suitable U.S. locations, such as tourist spots, adventure parks and cable car stations.
It will not be launching in Singapore due to local regulations.
The flying car services will be targeted at the sports and recreation market, where the flyer does not need a pilot licence to fly, said Neo Kok Beng, founder and CEO of NEO Aeronautics.
The Crimson S8 is developed based on the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 103 ultralight regulations (1982), which means that the total weight of the aircraft must not exceed 115kg (254lb).
Neo also told Zaobao that he estimates that the cost for each flight may be around US$200 (S$260), which is lower than the US$400 (S$520) to US$500 (S$650) for a hot air balloon ride.
