Former celebrity hairstylist Addy Lee went live on Facebook on the night of May 13 to talk about his relationship with Singaporean actress Eleanor Lee, 25, and her mum, Quan Yifeng, 54, who is a Mediacorp host.

The meandering six-hour stream then segued into Lee sharing about haircare products.

Lee is known to have had close personal ties with both mother and daughter previously.

Two hours before his scheduled 9pm livestream on Tuesday night, he put up a video to talk about "retribution" in relation to someone's daughter, which many viewers understood as him potentially sharing more in an exposé about a recent controversy involving Eleanor in China.

But those who tuned in were likely left confused as Lee, who is Eleanor's estranged godfather, spoke cryptically.

He only began speaking more about the mother and daughter when 10,000 viewers were tuned in to his livestream.

The gist of his six-hour livestream can be condensed into three points, as per vibes by 8world.

1. Benefitted from and got hurt by Quan

Lee said he first came to Singapore from Malaysia at the age of 19 and credited Quan for getting him started in the industry.

He said: "Without her, I would not be where I am today."

He added that he had a very good relationship with Quan previously and were close "like family".

"We were together every day. She also strongly promoted me and would look for me for magazine shoots," he added.

However, he claimed that he has been helped and hurt by her.

He said: "The mother has a bad temper, but she really taught me a lot and helped me a lot. She led me by the nose, and sometimes I had to endure her temper."

2. Fell out after livestreaming during pandemic

Lee said he began livestreaming sales during the pandemic and later persuaded Quan to join him.

They were staying together at the time and made about S$300,000 in sales in a month.

However, Lee claimed Quan said they made money due to Quan's fame, and that she scolded him on the livestream, which hurt him.

Lee admitted that he suffered a lot of setbacks, but Quan apparently just sent him a text message to say, "Since you don't come out all day, you don't want to see me or listen to my explanation, so let's move out."

Lee said Quan and Eleanor then cut off contact with him, even after Eleanor made a name for herself in China.

3. Posted content that hurt Lee

Lee said Quan then showed up at another hairstylist's salon and posted on social media to thank the shop, saying it saved her damaged hair.

Lee took this as an affront to his personal brand as a hairstylist, which could have damaged his reputation.

He added that he has cut off all contact with mother and daughter.

Lee said he will be speaking again in a livestream on May 14 night.
