S'pore sprint queen Shanti Pereira clinches silver in 200m race at Asian Athletics Championship
Another medal for the queen.
Singapore's sprint queen, Shanti Pereira, has won silver at the Asian Athletics Championship on May 31.
The defending champion, Pereira, ran the women's 200m race in Korea and came in second with a time of 22.98 seconds, her season best.
China's Chen Yujie came in first with 22.97 seconds.

In the 200m heats on May 30, Pereira easily earned her spot in the finals with a time of 23.59 seconds, qualifying first in her heats.
This would be her second medal as she took home a silver in the women's 100m on May 28.
In 2023, Pereira claimed a historic sprint double in Bangkok, Thailand, with gold medals in the 100m and 200m.
She set the national record of 11.20 seconds in the 100m final, which still stands today.
She also holds the fastest time in Singapore for the women's 200m sprint at 22.57 seconds.
