Singapore's indoor skydiving team emerged triumphant at the 2025 FAI World Championships.

Held in Belgium on Apr. 28, the team secured four medals despite having had their accommodations burgled just a few days before.

When the team returned to their residence from the competition venue on Apr. 25, they found it ransacked and their belongings stolen. This led to the team relocating to a hotel in the middle of the competition.

Despite the burglary, Singapore clinched gold in the Dynamic 4-Way event, two silver medals in the Solo Speed Junior and Freestyle Open, and a bronze medal in the Dynamic 2-Way event.

Tie-breaker

In the Dynamic 4-Way, Team Singapore faced Switzerland in the final, which resulted in a tie-breaker.

Kai Minejima-Lee, Vera Poh, Kyra Poh and Choo Yi Xuan maintained their advantage and eventually won gold with their performance.

"This gold means even more given what we had to overcome," said Kyra Poh.

"The burglary incident could have derailed our focus, but instead, it brought us closer together. When the final went to a tie-breaker, we knew we had the mental strength to handle the pressure."

Vera Poh won a silver medal in the Solo Speed Junior event while Minejima-Lee secured silver in the Freestyle Open, just 0.1 points behind the gold medalist of that event.

Kyra Poh and Choo claimed bronze in the Dynamic 2-way.

"What these athletes demonstrated goes far beyond their technical abilities. The mental strength they showed in putting aside such a distressing incident and continuing to perform at world-class level is truly remarkable," said Lawrence Koh, CEO of iFly Singapore.
