Road closures near Shangri-La & St. Regis for Shangri-La Dialogue from May 29-Jun. 1, 2025

The police will conduct security checks on vehicles in the vicinity of the two hotels during the event period.

The 22nd International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Shangri-La Dialogue, a premier regional security forum, will be held at Shangri-La Singapore from Friday to Sunday, May 30 to Jun. 1, 2025.

The forum's reception and dinner will be held at The St. Regis Singapore on Saturday, May 31.

As part of security operations, the police will be conducting security checks on vehicles in the vicinity of the two hotels during the event period, said the Singapore Police Force in a May 27 news release.

Additionally, there will be road and lane closures on May 31 and Jun. 1 near St. Regis Singapore.

Avoid surrounding roads of Shangri-La Singapore from May 29 to Jun. 1

In the news release, the police advised motorists to avoid the surrounding roads of Shangri-La Singapore, including Anderson Road and Orange Grove Road, from May 29 to Jun. 1.

They are encouraged to take Draycott Park or Draycott Drive if they are heading to Ardmore Park, as there will be no through road between Ardmore Park lamp post 8 and Anderson Road from 11pm on May 29 to 5pm on Jun. 1.

Likewise, motorists are advised to take Scotts Road if they are travelling to:

  • Stevens Road from Tanglin Road; or
  • Orchard Road from Stevens Road; or
  • Balmoral Road from Tanglin Road

Entry for commercial vehicles into Anderson Road will be restricted.

Parking within Shangri-La Singapore will be limited, and vehicles found parking illegally or causing obstruction will be towed.

Road & lane closures near St. Regis Singapore from May 31 to Jun. 1

To facilitate the forum's reception and dinner on Saturday, the following roads and lanes will be closed to vehicular traffic from 4am on May 31 to 6am on Jun. 1.

  • Two right lanes of Tanglin Road in the direction of Orchard Road (between lamp post 31 and Ellis Road)
  • Two right lanes of Tanglin Road in the direction of Orchard Road (between lamp post 25 and lamp post 11)
  • Tomlinson Road (between Cuscaden Road and Tanglin Road)
  • The carriageway of Cuscaden Road in the direction of Orchard Road (between Tomlinson Road and lamp post 6)
  • Right lane of the carriageway of Tomlinson Road in the direction of Tanglin Road (between lamp post 5 and Cuscaden Road)

During the period of road closures, traffic delays are expected along Tanglin Road, Cuscaden Road, Tomlinson Road, and Orchard Boulevard.

Motorists are advised to avoid these roads, and members of the public travelling to these affected areas are strongly encouraged to use public transport.

Motorists heading to Orchard Road via Cuscaden Road or Tomlinson Road are advised to use alternative routes via Grange Road, followed by Paterson Hill towards Paterson Road.

Cannot fly drones near the hotels during event period

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore will be establishing a Temporary Restricted Area (TRA) over Shangri-La Singapore from May 30 to Jun.1 during the following periods:

  • May 30: 7:30am to 11:30pm
  • May 31: 7:30am to 7:30pm
  • Jun. 1: 7:30am to 3:30pm

Another TRA will be set up over The St. Regis Singapore from 6pm to 11pm on May 31.

During the aforementioned dates and timings, the conduct of aerial and unmanned aircraft activities within and into the TRAs is prohibited.
