FairPrice is now taking pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 console, with an online bundle priced at S$809.

This is ahead of the Nintendo Switch 2's official release date on Jun. 5.

The bundle offered on the FairPrice online store is sold by Shopitree, an electronics store based in Bukit Batok.

It comes with a seven-day in-house warranty by Shopitree, as well as the Mario Kart World game.

The console's country of origin is labelled as the European Union.

The Nintendo Switch 2 comes in two versions, a version region-locked to the Japanese market, and a global version that supports up to 16 languages, including Japanese.

Can use CDC vouchers to buy?

But perhaps the bigger question is: Can you use the Community Development Council (CDC) supermarket vouchers to buy a Nintendo Switch 2 from FairPrice?

The short answer is yes, assuming you can find the console in a physical FairPrice store.

CDC supermarket vouchers can be spent at participating supermarkets — including FairPrice — except for the purchase of lottery products, diesel, petrol, alcohol or cigarettes.

However, CDC vouchers cannot be used for e-commerce or online transactions, according to an FAQ section on the CDC website.

So no, you won't be able to use CDC vouchers to pre-order a Nintendo Switch 2 online.

Alternatively, you could also wait for the console to be stocked at an electronics store in your neighbourhood.

Devices such as the iPhone 15 Pro Max, Playstation 5, and the original Nintendo Switch are available for purchase with CDC vouchers at various participating heartland merchants.

Background

The most recent batch of S$500 in CDC vouchers has been disbursed in May, and is valid till Dec. 31, 2025.

An eighth tranche, comprising S$300 in vouchers will be issued in January 2026.

The CDC Vouchers Scheme was first launched in June 2020 and January 2021 by former Deputy Prime Minister and then-Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat.

The intent was to help Singaporean lower-income households defray their cost of living, while supporting hawkers and heartland merchants affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The first tranche of support benefited up to 1.3 million Singaporean households, who received S$100 in CDC vouchers each.
