Election results 'very disappointing': Chee Soon Juan
Following the release of election results, Chee also addressed SDP supporters at the Ministry of Education (Evans) Stadium.
On SDP's overall performance, Chee said: "It's been a very disappointing set of results across the board".
In particular, he was surprised by the result in the Bukit Panjang SMC, where SDP chairman Paul Tambyah contested.
In a re-match with PAP incumbent Liang Eng Hwa, Tambyah lost after scoring 38.59 per cent of votes, a decrease in vote share from his 2020 performance.
Chee said the SDP team would study the relevant data in the coming months and thanked the party's supporters.
He added that he would hold a press conference to answer further questions.
Chee narrowly missed out on a non-constituency member of parliament (NCMP) seat, which will go to Workers' Party (WP) candidate Andre Low, who contested in Jalan Kayu SMC, and another WP candidate for Tampines GRC.
