Man caught on CCTV spitting water at Everton Park cat’s sleeping area on 3 consecutive days
He promised to stop doing it.
When a resident in Everton Park noticed puddles and water stains around a community cat’s usual resting spot, she and two friends decided to investigate the matter further.
The resident, who wished to remain anonymous, told Mothership they set up a CCTV camera near the area and made a shocking discovery.
A man was spitting water directly into the cat’s sleeping area.
CCTV footage showed the man doing so at around 4am on May 19.
Fortunately, the cat, named Timmy, tends to be active between 2am and 5am, so he wasn’t in his bed at the time of the incident.

Confrontation
After witnessing the man spitting into Timmy’s sleeping area on three consecutive days, the trio decided it was time to confront him.
On May 22 at around 4:30am, they spotted the man "stomping his foot" at Timmy while the cat was playing with another shophouse cat nearby.
He appeared to have a mouth full of water, the resident said.
However, upon noticing the three of them, the man walked away.
When they confronted him, he allegedly refused to swallow the water in his mouth to speak.
After further questioning, he eventually spat the water out and claimed he had just been gargling.
"He did not own up to his acts and he tried to wiggle his way out by saying he was afraid of cats hence he did it," the resident said.
After much back and forth, the trio was able to get the man to admit to his mistake and promise that he wouldn’t do it again.
The resident said they would report him to the police if it happened again.
