SG Enable, an agency that raises awareness on disability and facilitates access to schemes and services in Singapore, has issued a statement on LinkedIn and social media informing the public that a woman, Janney Hujic, and her company, Elysian Expeditions, are not authorised to raise funds for the Goh Chok Tong Enable Fund (GCTEF).

This was after the company used the GCTEF logo on its promotional material.

SG Enable's statement, posted on LinkedIn in response to Huji's post, read:

"SG Enable is aware of claims made by Janney Hujic, through her company Elysian Expeditions, regarding a fundraising effort for the Goh Chok Tong Enable Fund (GCTEF).

We reached out to Ms Hujic on May 21, 2025 to seek clarifications about the fundraising campaign and to date, we have not received a response from her or Elysian Expeditions.

We would like to inform the public that Ms Hujic and Elysian Expeditions are not authorised fundraising partners of SG Enable, and we have not endorsed their fundraising campaign.

The GCTEF logo and fundraising messages on their website are used without our knowledge and permission."

SG Enable then directed the public to the GCTEF website.

Who is Janney Hujic?

Hujic is currently a trending topic in Singapore after she posted a photo with a person she met in Bali and tagged former DBS CEO Piyush Gupta on LinkedIn.

However, she was apparently informed by the person who took the photo with her, Kumar H Subramaniam, 58, that he was not Gupta.

The Singaporean man, who works in Bali, told Mothership in an interview that he has been mistaken for Gupta before, but in this latest incident, the LinkedIn post by Hujic has blown up internationally.

This was after Gupta personally responded on LinkedIn to Hujic's post, saying: "Sorry to disillusion you. That isn't me!"

Kumar said he did not know why Hujic still went ahead to post his photo and tagged Gupta, when he already told her he was not the ex-CEO.

Hujic has not responded to media requests for comment on why she put up the post.

However, a May 22 update on Hujic's LinkedIn account apparently written by her "team", claimed that Hujic will be away till May 25, as she is on an expedition in Vietnam and has no access to the internet.

The update read:

"Be assured that she tagged Piyush with the hope that he would respond to her post, fully thinking that she had spoken with him. Yes, GPT might have been used to improve the wording, as this was a once-in-a-lifetime encounter for her. But at no point was there any intention to deceive anyone. Please hold your thoughts until she has put her side of the story. We appreciate it."

It also said Hujic will address the issue on Sunday when she returns.

Mothership has reached out to Hujic and her company for comment.

An SG Enable spokesperson told Mothership:

We reached out to Ms Janney Hujic to clarify her fundraising efforts for the Goh Chok Tong Enable Fund (GCTEF). We have yet to receive a reply from her. In the meantime, as a charity and an organisation with IPC status, we feel it is our responsibility to alert the members of public to the official giving channels for GCTEF.

We welcome Ms Hujic to contact us to share about her fundraising efforts for GCTEF.
