DBS CEO Tan Su Shan only S'porean in Fortune's Top 10 Most Powerful Women in business list
Number 6.
Tan Su Shan, who became DBS Bank's first female CEO in March, is the only Singaporean to break into the top 10 of Fortune's global list of 100 Most Powerful Women in business.
In the list released on May 20, Tan is ranked sixth and one of only two Asia-based women in the top 10.
The other being China's Meng Wanzhou, CFO of Huawei, in 10th place.
Among other honourees are Citigroup's CEO Jane Fraser in third, Accenture's Chair and CEO Julie Sweet claiming second place and General Motors' Chair and CEO Mary Barra in the top spot.
The ranking is based on the size and health of the women's businesses, as well as "an executive’s influence, innovation, career trajectory, and efforts to make business better", according to Fortune.
This is the first time such a scoring system has been used by Fortune.
Tan, 57, took over the helm at DBS from former CEO Piyush Gupta after the latter stepped down on Mar. 28, 2025.
She had previously ranked 89th in the 2024 iteration of the list, and was recognised as the world's Best Leader in Private Banking at the PWM Global Private Banking Awards 2014.
Two other Singaporeans also made this year's list of 100 Most Powerful Women in business, namely Helen Wong, Group CEO at OCBC Bank, and Png Chin Yee, CFO of Temasek.
