Changi Airport's yearly passenger traffic hits record high of 68.4 million, surpasses pre-Covid levels
So many people.

Here's some cause for celebration: Changi Airport's passenger traffic for the year ending March 2025 hit 68.4 million, exceeding pre-pandemic levels.
According to Changi Airport, this is an increase of 9.5 per cent compared to the previous 12 months.
From January 2025 to March 2025, the airport handled 17.2 million passenger movements, which exceeded levels in the same period in 2024 by 4.3 per cent.
The airport said North America registered the highest growth with a year-on-year (yoy) increase of 15.8 per cent for the first quarter in 2025.
Aside from that, Singapore's top five markets for the quarter were:
- China
- Indonesia
- Malaysia
- Australia
- Thailand
Traffic between Singapore and China saw a 10 per cent increase year-on-year.
Traffic between Singapore and Japan also saw an increase— 16 per cent— year-on-year.
As of Apr. 1, some 100 airlines operate over 7,200 weekly scheduled flights at Changi Airport, connecting Singapore to about 170 cities in 49 countries and territories worldwide.
Speaking to the media at the sidelines of an event at the Airbus Singapore Campus, Minister for Transport Chee Hong Tat said:
"So this has been a good result, thanks to the hard work of our tripartite partners in the OneAviation system."
Chee added that the government is looking to build on the "good momentum", one which happily persists despite the "turbulent and uncertain global environment".
"We now have about 36,000 people employed in [the aviation] industry, and the key companies like Changi Airport Group, Singapore Airlines, SATS, they are all continuing with their hiring and looking to expand further, and this is across different job roles, both the commercial roles, flight crew, ground handling, and so on and so forth."
Calling Singapore's aviation industry a "bright spot", the minister highlighted the S$1 billion fund, announced at this year's Committee of Supply (COS) debate, that will go into growing Changi Airport as an air hub.
