A five-car accident along the Central Expressway (CTE) resulted in a 34-year-old woman being sent to hospital.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Mothership that they were alerted to the accident around 5:30pm on May 4.
The accident occurred along the CTE towards Seletar Expressway (SLE) before Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 exit.
Five lanes congested due to accident
A video taken from a bus showed the jam along the expressway, with all five lanes congested and almost at a standstill.
It was then revealed in the video that two of the right-most lanes of the road were cordoned off by police officers due to the accident.
The hood of a white vehicle appeared to have crashed into the expressway's centre divider.
Another two cars were damaged in the accident.
